The Broward County Women Lawyers’ Association (BCWLA) is the Broward Chapter of the Florida Association for Women Lawyers (FAWL), bringing together attorneys, judges, legal professionals, and law students who are committed to advancing excellence in the legal profession and making a positive impact in our community.
Founded in 1991, BCWLA was established with a vision to encourage, support, and promote women lawyers in every stage of their careers. Over the years, the organization has grown into a respected network of legal professionals dedicated to leadership, mentorship, education, diversity, and service.
Our membership reflects the diversity of Broward County and includes professionals from a wide range of practice areas, backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. While our members differ in many ways, we are united by a shared belief that a strong legal community is built through collaboration, professional development, ethical leadership, and civic engagement.
BCWLA is dedicated to supporting and advancing women in the legal profession while fostering leadership, professional growth, and meaningful community involvement. Through educational programs, networking opportunities, mentorship initiatives, and advocacy efforts, we help our members achieve their personal and professional goals.
Throughout the year, BCWLA hosts educational seminars, CLE-accredited programs, networking events, leadership initiatives, and community outreach activities designed to empower legal professionals and strengthen the justice system. Our members benefit from opportunities to:
Our commitment extends beyond the legal profession. BCWLA actively supports charitable organizations, provides pro bono assistance, mentors young women, and partners with community organizations to create lasting positive change throughout Broward County.
BCWLA is guided by a dedicated Board of Directors and volunteer leaders who are passionate about fostering an inclusive, supportive, and forward-thinking legal community. Through their service, they help shape programs and initiatives that address the evolving needs of legal professionals while honoring the organization’s longstanding tradition of excellence and advocacy.
As we continue to grow, BCWLA remains focused on creating opportunities for women in law to thrive, lead, and make meaningful contributions to the profession and society. We believe that when legal professionals support one another, invest in their communities, and champion equality and justice, everyone benefits.
Whether you are an experienced attorney, a new practitioner, a judge, or a law student, BCWLA welcomes you to become part of a dynamic network dedicated to professional excellence, service, and leadership.
Together, we are building the future of the legal profession in Broward County.
While we encourage our members to pursue leadership opportunities, Broward County Women Lawyers’ Association is a non-partisan organization that does not endorse candidates who are campaigning for public office.
