J.D., University of Miami School of Law and B.S. from the University of Florida.  Has served as an Assistant State Attorney in the Eleventh Circuit, Miami, since 1981. Chief, Sexually Violent Predator Unit (Jimmy Ryce Sexual Predator Act) and serves as Senior Trial Counsel in the most complex and high profile homicide cases (mainly those with multiple victims, complex legal issues, and those in which the State is seeking the death penalty).  During my tenure with the Office of the State Attorney, I have served as Deputy Chief of the Felony Division, Assistant Chief of the Sexual Battery/Child Abuse Unit, and Assistant Chief of the Juvenile Division.

Adjunct Professor of Law at Florida International University teaching Trial Advocacy.  Florida Bar Juvenile Rules Committee as Sub-Committee Chair, and former Chair of Florida Bar Grievance Committee 11H.  Guest speaker at numerous legal seminars, including the Symposium on Juvenile Sentencing Alternatives and the Judicial College.  Currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Broward County Women Lawyers Association and is Vice President of the South Broward Bar.  Active member of the Broward County Bar, as well as a participant in many activities in both the Miami-Dade and the Broward legal communities.

Born in Laurelton, New York, coming to south Florida as a young teenager, raised in Miami Beach.  Married thirty-plus years and doting and proud parents of two grown daughters.
